Au-Pair in Germany

General Conditions:

Au-Pairs receive 280 EUR pocket money per month. The working schedule (more than 6 hours per day and 30 hours per week) accommodates family's habits and needs. The Au-Pair is entitled to at least 1.5 free days per week. Once a month, this day should be a Sunday and a paid annual holiday of 4 weeks for 12 months of stay. The host family provides their Au-Pair the opportunity to attend a German language course as well as the chance to attend other cultural activities. The host family, however, is obliged to make a monthly contribution of 70 EUR towards the language course. Host families are required to cover the costs for health and liability insurance for the Au-Pair.

Au-Pair Requirements:

EU citizens

• Age between 18 and 30 years.

• Posses basic knowledge of the German language.

• Are not married and have no children.

Non-EU citizens

• Age between 18 and 26 years.

• Posses basic knowledge of the German language (at least level A1).

• Are not married and have no children.

• Would like to work as an Au-Pair in Germany for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months.

• Have not yet been an Au-Pair in Germany before.
